RSVP girls night out at Central!
Friday, February 17, 2012

Looking for somewhere new, fun and fresh to eat? We’ve got your answer. We rounded up the RSVP girls for dinner and drinks and tried out Montgomery’s trendy new restaurant, Central. With fresh, local items and impeccable Southern flair, we couldn’t help but be impressed.
Centrally located in The Alley, Montgomery’s newest entertainment district, Central stays true to its name. With exposed brick, reclaimed wood and an open kitchen, the atmosphere was one-of-a-kind.
We started out the night with a round of cocktails and appetizers. The Eve’s Apple martini and the Bourbon Tea Party were our drinks of choice, and we weren’t disappointed. Our favorite part of the Bourbon Tea Party was the garnish—a lemon sewn into a teabag. We loved the unique, Southern touch it added to the cocktail.
When it was time to order appetizers, we couldn’t make up our minds, so we ordered quite a few to sample. We ordered the boiled peanut hummus, the crispy calamari, the Thai chicken flatbread and the Georgia white shrimp. Everything was delicious, but we especially loved the crispy calamari. It was sweet, crunchy and just the right portion.
Before we had time to start feeling full from our appetizer extravaganza, our dinner came. Among our choices were the sweet potato ravioli, the meatloaf, the “steakhouse” wedge and the popular “brasstown” burger. After sampling bites from every plate, we decided our pick of the night was the sweet potato ravioli. It was inventive, reasonably priced and delicious.
All in all it was a fantastic night. With tasty food, unique atmosphere and a table full of friends, what more could you ask for? You’ve got our vote, Central.
