Sounds of Summer
Time: 7-9 pm
Crystal StricklandCrystal began working with RSVP as an intern in the summer of 2009. After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in apparel merchandising and minors in both finance and business administration, she became the full- time marketing manager and event coordinator for RSVP. Whether she was working with current advertisers , pursuing new businesses, putting together the calendar of events, directing photo shoots or handling RSVP social events, Crystal loved being a part of all aspects of the magazine and seeing each issue come to life. “I think one of my favorite parts of RSVP was planning the events—from weddings, corporate events, Pub Crawls to wine festivals…I truly enjoy meeting with clients and bringing to fruition their vision and dreams,” she says.
While she no longer works full time for RSVP, she still enjoys helping out in any way possible with the magazine. She credits family, her passion for weddings, flowers and antiques, as well as her time as event coordinator as some of the things that pushed her to start her own business: Southern Posies – an event planning, floral design and prop rental company. When not working, you will find Crystal spending time with her husband, Trip, and their pet child, Dolly, at Lake Martin or their family farm in North Alabama. “I am truly thankful for my wonderful and supportive husband, amazing parents and great family and friends who have shown me that I can achieve anything through prayer and dedication.”
