RSVP Montgomery

From the Girls - May/June 2018

MAY/JUNE 2018

Kim Traff

This issue has turned out to be one of my favorite issues to date. Meeting and interviewing so many incredible and talented people responsible for the revival of Kress on Dexter was a rewarding, personal experience. When you add in the effort and talent of photographers Michelle Consuegra, Sydney Foster and Jonathon Kohn who greatly contributed to the images in this story, well- it was just way more than I could have ever hoped for.

We added a new feature to highlight local artists, and this issue highlights Madison Faile. Madison recently experienced personal tragedy which has transformed him into the artist he is today. Ronda Walker has a huge passion for our community and is running for a seat in the Alabama State Senate. Her battle with cancer taught her how to fight to overcome obstacles. She needs your support to help make sure positive changes happen in Alabama. University of Alabama freshman Caitlyn McTier was the 2018 winner of the new Miss Tri County pageant and she is an incredible example to her peers. Connections at Montgomery Regional Airport just got better with direct flights to Orlando and D.C. as well as a new bar and restaurant, Runway 28, that will make waiting for your flight more enjoyable. Change up your dining routine with the new hot spots featured in Take 5. If you’re looking for a good summer read by the pool, Reply Yes features new books just released. If you are hosting an event, LAF, a new game company in town will have all of your guests interacting with one another. As always, we love featuring movers and shakers in our city. Be sure to check out the LIST to meet some of the “cool kids” in town!

The production of this issue, as amazing as it was, was bittersweet because we bid farewell to our precious friend and editor, Peyton Flowers, who has moved on to pursue the next chapter in her life. We will miss sweet baby Rhettman being with us in the afternoons but most of all, we will miss the love, laughter and dedication she contributed to RSVP. Don’t worry - she will still be contributing articles from time to time and making appearances at RSVP events!
