Stars on The Riverfront

ADT opened its 2018-2019 “Once Upon a Season” with two successful FREE performances of “Stars on the Riverfront” July 29 and July 30, 2018 at the Riverwalk Amphitheatre. The performances were a culmination of a two week summer intensive seminar with prestigious professional faculty from around the country. Charles Jinright, Montgomery City Council President and Emcee Olivia Deas, news anchor at WAKA, welcomed the audience Sunday and Monday nights, acknowledged the City of Montgomery for the lovely venue, noted the dancers hard work and thanked the sponsors.

Prior to the Sunday and Monday evening performances, beautifully packaged picnic sponsor bags, were prepared by Development Director, Pamela Swan and Laura Leigh Wright. The bags were filled with a mix of sweet and savory treats with a bit of nostalgia, including cheese straws from Liger’s Bakery, blueberry fig bars and the Original Cracker Jack complete with the prize, a cool crisp Luna Rose’ wine to compliment the Montgomery heat donated by Mark Mussafer and the United Johnson Brothers of Alabama and elegant paper fans donated by the UPS Store.   After the two week long summer intensive seminar and two performances, the dancers enjoyed a cast party under the pavilion at the splash pad.

“Stars on the Riverfront” performances were sponsored by Wind Creek Hospitality, Alabama Power Foundation, BBVA Compass, An Anonymous Donor and Charles Jinright, Montgomery City Council President, the Montgomery Advertiser, Cumulus Broadcasting, the City of Montgomery, the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. Transportation and housing sponsors include Stivers Ford Lincoln, Doubletree Montgomery- Downtown, Wynn and Andy Stumpf, Cade and Aynsley Armstrong, Hannah and PJ Beaver and Butch and Olga White. ADT is now registering for fall classes beginning Monday, August 20. Call 334-625-2590 or visit for more information on upcoming performances and classes.
