The Montgomery Biscuits Roll Out New Events for the Whole Community

Those events include some of your old favorites like giveaways and fireworks, as well as new events with live music, theme nights and much more. The season kicked off this year with live music from Dueling Pianos, and Murphy said even when the Biscuits are away, people can expect to utilize Riverwalk Stadium for events like kickball tournaments, concerts, movies and more.

As always, the Biscuits will host Thirsty Thursdays with $2 draft and can beer, bottled water and pretzels, and they unveiled 11 special t-shirt designs for their Thursday giveaway series. Each Thursday home game, the first 1,000 people, aged 15 and over, will receive commemorative Biscuits t-shirts designed by local artists that fit the theme of the evening. On Thursday, May 23, don’t miss Southern Rock night or 80s night on Thursday, June 6.

“We wanted these designs to be fun and edgy. We used local artists and graphic designers, and we hope people will collect all 11 designs and wear them proudly to promote not only the Biscuits, but Montgomery as well,” Murphy said.

In addition to the fantastic t-shirt giveaway series, Murphy said the Biscuits will have ‘Dress Like a Player’ Sundays where the first 500 kids, aged 14 and under, will receive a piece of a biscuits “uniform” like a hat, jersey, bat, etc. so that at the end of the season, they will have a full uniform to dress like their favorite players.

Murphy said Sundays will also be fun for the whole family, even the four-legged members. “We want people to come out and enjoy our Sunday Family days and that means the whole family! Bark in the Park day is a pet-friendly event that allows your pets to join in on the fun at Sunday Biscuits’ home games, too,” he said.

MGM Fridays celebrate the city’s Chamber of Commerce and will honor those who make a difference in our community with special events for city employees, first responders, teachers and more with VIP tickets and a special section where they will be recognized during the game. And don’t forget to stick around for the best fireworks display in town every Friday and Saturday when the Biscuits are in town. Murphy said there will be a total of 26 shows this season that are bigger and better than ever before.

For the little sluggers with dreams of being a Biscuit, join the Lil Crumbs Club presented by Alabama Power. This special kid’s club for those aged 14 and under features complimentary tickets to Sunday home games, a newsletter geared just toward the kids, a discount in the clubhouse store, early admission to baseball camp and much more. It’s free to sign up, and Murphy said it will get the kids involved with the Biscuits in a way that’s never been done before.

The newly renovated Club Car Bar is a great place to relax and grab a drink and a bite to eat before, during and after the games. This climate-controlled area can be heated or cooled and will also transform into an outdoor venue when the Montgomery skies are blue. This upscale event space is also available for parties, weddings, family reunions and more, and comes completely catered to fit your needs.

Murphy said the Biscuits still intend on celebrating your favorite events, like the annual Trick-or-Treat event which drew over 7,000 people last year and their Christmas Biscuits with Santa event, but the thing he’s most proud of is the Biscuits Charitable Foundation. “While we have worked very hard since we began in 2004 to give back to the community, this year is going to be our best one yet. The staff here at the Montgomery Biscuits are solely responsible for the fundraising efforts, and we truly believe in doing everything in our power to better our community,” Murphy said.

Their fundraising efforts benefit many different organizations and help build and renovate fields all over town, quite literally giving the gift of baseball to the youth of Montgomery. Murphy said, “Being able to give back to our area and the kids in Montgomery is a blessing that we take very seriously. We love our city and the people in it, and we want to continue to be a strong part of what makes Montgomery great.”
