You donut want to miss this! June 2nd is National
Donut Day. Every first Friday in June, people across America celebrate these
tasty treats. 1938 marks the founding of the holiday. It is observed to celebrate
the women of WWII who baked goods for the US infantry. The Salvation Army
originally used this day as a fundraiser for those suffering during the Great
Depression.
So grab a cup of
coffee and enjoy everyone’s favorite breakfast pastry. Krispy Kreme on Atlanta
Highway is offering one free donut (no purchase necessary) to everyone that
comes in their store. Or support local Montgomery businesses by going to Ross
Donuts on Bell Road and G & S Donuts on Woodmere Blvd. Whether you like
them glazed, frosted, or filled, don’t forget to pick one up this Friday.
