The 11th Annual Shoppes at East Chase Farmer’s Market is in full swing. As one of the top five markets in Alabama, the Farmer’s Market continues to grow each year. From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. every Saturday until October 16th, join vendors and fellow locals to celebrate the natural resources of Alabama. Items for sale include fresh-cut flowers, handmade soaps, and artisan jewelry. Cooking demonstrations will be available for viewers periodically throughout the events each Saturday. Baked goods and homemade fudge will be sold to satisfy any sweet tooth. Natural produce, the market’s main draw will be sold in wide varieties. Locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables offer a unique juxtaposition to the rich casseroles, barbecue, and pimento cheese also offered. The market is pet and kid friendly, offering entertainment and crafts for children.
As a Memorial Day celebration, the market is holding a giveaway this Saturday. Every market-goer can register to win an entire garden cart containing an array of gifts. Each vendor has donated fresh produce and gifts and compiled it together for the ultimate prize. Come to the market for a Saturday full of food and fun!
